Christmas present time!!
**Early Saturday morning, October 27th, Fred slipped away and became Jesus' new cuddle buddy. He had been sick for some time but not real bad. On Friday night Chris called me down to see him and man did he look real bad. The thought crossed my mind that in the morning we may need to make the call to have him put down. He wasn't able to walk well, or up the stairs anymore. We didn't even make him go out to potty that night....letting him pee in the basement if needed for better comfort. Chris went upstairs and I squatted down to give him hugs and chat. Some may not believe this or may find it silly, but I told Fred it was okay to pass away. I told him that he could be Jesus' new doggie and that I would miss him and that I loved him and he would feel so much better. I said goodnight to him and that's the last I was able to physically hug him. He had passed when we got up in the morning. A huge thank you to my dear friend, Jen Suhre, whom I called for help in where to take him...which place is the better choice. She quickly packed up her 8wk old twins, grabbed her hubby and came right over before I could tell her no, Chris is ok taking Fred to the vet. Terry and Chris did the not fun deed and Jen stayed with me until they got back. May sound funny to others but Fred was such a wonderful dog and it was and still is very hard to say goodbye. I still see his shadows in the night and some during the day. I think I hear him coming across the kitchen floors at night. He was an amazing dog who loved EVERYONE and EVERYTHING!!!!!! We love you big guy and will truly miss you...especially your happy smiles!!!! Dance with Jesus big guy :)
